Monastery and Kibber Village
 |
| These Young monks were exercising in the car park by the monastery. Some just as cheeky as heir contemparies the world over |

We must be mad! We finally decide to take a day off so what do we do? We get on our bikes and ascent 500m plus to do some sight seeing.
Food in abundance
in Kaza. A choice of restaurants, westerners about and whiffs of wifi. We are
in the big town. We cycled without luggage to the Key Monastery today. Still a
very active place and the oldest functioning Buddhist monastery. Even if you
don't understand the religion it is still very impressive. We sat out a shower
in the restaurant before we cycled up to the supposedly highest inhabited village
on a motorable road where we met Aiden a 71 year old cyclist and long time
aficionado of India and the Spiti and Kinnaur valleys in particular. Bot could
he talk. On the way down we caught up with an Indian cyclist and it made us
feel quite humble when we compared kit. Quite impressive what he managed to
achieve on such appalling equipment. He was limping in to Kaza to have his
wobbly front hub repaired before carrying on south for another 5000 kms. We
wished him well.

| This guy proved that you don't need to have the best and latest kit. You can still just do it! |
