17/08/2017 Arrival in Chandigarh
| With thanks to Laura Stone for the invaluable information provided in her book. |
At long last we are off on another cycle adventure. This time to the Himalayas in India. We will hopefully be cycling over some of the worlds highest motor-able passes and have ourselves a wonderful time exploring.
Assembling bikes after a journey
is always worrying. You never
know which crucial bike part you
might have left behind. Luckily all
was well.

After recent mishaps with flights in the Patterson household we decided not take any chances, so arrived at Heathrow with 5 hours to spare! An uneventful flight took us to Delhi where we changed flights to Chandigarh and after parting with some extra money we were allowed to board with the bikes. To be fair. It did take about 6 people to get the job done and we were treated like royalty on arrival in Chandigarh. We were mighty glad that we had a taxi from the airport to the hotel. Straight from rural Devon the traffic chaos was somewhat overwhelming!
After hearing many horror stories about the food hygiene situation in India we decided that we should be very careful. The last thing we need is a Deli belly but our resolve crumbled when we smelled the food being prepared on the street right outside our hotel. It was delicious.

| Rather glad we brought our own bikes! |
